Whether you’re a yoga teacher, yoga student, or fitness instructor, Nomadic Winds Aerial Hammock Teacher Training has something for you to learn and share.

Aerial hammock is a versatile prop used to experience movement in a new way. The fabric supports the body and many different techniques are used to provide a fun and transformative practice that has many benefits for all.   You do not need to have any prior aerial experience to begin this learning process and have a fulfilling training.

How is an aerial hammock different?

Contrary to popular belief aerial hammocks can be used for a variety of purposes. It is widely used for aerial yoga but it also is a wonderful prop for Pilates, Barre and many other fitness-based practices. Aerial hammock is an accessible option to expand upon what you are already providing to your community.  Whether it is connecting breath and movement with yoga or focusing on building strength, the suspended hammock leaves people feeling energized and confident.

Using the aerial hammock will positively benefit your health in so many ways:

  • Connect movement and breath within the hammock

  • Engages and lengthens the muscles to improve strength and range of motion

  • Provides  a way to experience accessible inversions

  • improves body awareness

  • Improves balance

  • Creates joy with in the body, mind and spirit

  • And so much more!

When the fabric connects to the body it becomes an extension of you.  This connection gives a unique experience where you can learn more about yourself.  Through the class there is typically one part of the body connected to the ground with another supported by the hammock. With so many options and variations along the way, poses flow easily with the fabric.  Inverting or going “up-side-down" is always optional but it is a part of class that makes you feel like you are a kid again.

Within the practice, you will notice subtle changes in the body,  feel stronger, increase proprioception and feel how this practice promotes an overall well-being, joyfulness and stronger sense of self.  Join Terra at our cozy studio in Mandan for an in-depth aerial hammock experience.
