What You’ll Learn

  • Learning to teach at a deeper level from the viewpoint of function over form. Exploring the foundations of healthy movement and develop embodied awareness is an essential element of this 300 hour yoga teacher training. This includes postural analysis, common injuries and prevention.

  • You’ll review the key categories of yoga postures and their alignment, benefits, contraindications and modifications. Building from a strong foundation, you’ll practice and teach intermediate and advanced poses such as arm balances and inversions. You’ll also move beyond the physical to thoroughly explore postures from an energetic perspective, to understand them as key ingredients of a master recipe.

  • You will learn how the tools of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing methods), bandha (energy locks) and meditation are used to create deep meaningful sequences. A great class is not just bio-mechanically sound but also powerful on an energetic level. You will practice dozens of different sequences, designed by our expert teachers to integrate classroom learning. You’ll also create your own sequences using the important tools you get at this training.

  • Every class you teach is an opportunity to take your students on a journey of self discovery. Whether that’s through the physical body, or inner exploration, we’ll give you the tools to take them there. You’ll be incorporating mudras, philosophy, energy and more into your practice. Learning how to teach beyond just pranayama and postures in class creates a learning environment for you and your students.

  • The breath is much more than just inhale/exhale. It’s is the primary life force and the true foundation of meaningful yogic practice. The breath has a profound influence on our nervous system, cognitive abilities, emotional management and how we interact with the world. We will thoroughly explore its application in postures, pranayama and meditation.

  • Frequently, the essential teachings of the sages get lost in translation. We’ll help bridge the gap between the often esoteric ancient wisdom of yoga and its relevance for modern living. You’ll examine the essential philosophies and traditions of Hatha, Tantra, and Classical Yoga. Learn the stories of gods and goddesses. We’ll be reading and having online book club to discuss The Ramayana and Seven Systems of Indian Philosophy.

  • There are many dimensions to understanding the prime life force, known to the yogis as prana. Consciously directing its flow through the body and mind is the secret to a transformative yoga practice. Energy is power and we’ll show you how to harness it.

  • Everyone will get the opportunity to teach and refine their yoga language skills and their ability to deliver an inspiring class as you work with the new tools you’ve learned. There will be plenty of practice teaching: one on one, in small groups, and in front of the whole class. You’ll also be creating and teaching a 2-hour workshop as a requirement or graduation

  • Using our collective creativity, we’ll explore new and innovative ideas of how to serve our communities through inspired workshop and program development exercises. These fun, enriching group exercises allows you to integrate the concepts you’ve learned at your 300 hour yoga teacher training course with your personal experience and unique voice.

You’ll also be exploring branding and promoting your business.

  • This is an important topic in today’s climate of social and environmental responsibility. We will examine yogic philosophy as a foundation for modern ethics and understand the responsibilities of being a leader in your classroom and community.

  • As an advanced yoga teacher you’ll be moving into the role of educator, community leader and subject mater expert. Now is the time to expand your skills and add workshops to your schedule.

One of the purposes of the mentoring portion of training is to help you determine where your passion lies and begin creating, marketing and presenting your 2 hour workshop.

  • While learning advanced teaching techniques and diving deeper into your practice is important in a group setting. You’ll also receive dedicated one-on-mentoring.

Mentoring is a place to hone your craft and receive personal feedback that helps you direct your path as a teacher and business yogi.

Think of it as your life coach but with a yoga twist.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is the class in-person or an online course? We believe the best way to absorb information during a 300-hour YTT is in person. The 300-hour YTT is structured for you to learn the skills to teach a 2-hour workshop, create Ayurvedic remedies, dive into your “why” and how to create your business based on that principle, skills needed to evaluate and teach one-on-one classes, a deeper look at chakras, philosophies, gods & goddesses, kirtan, Yoga Sutras beyond the Eight Limbs and more.

What if I can’t make all the weekends or something happens? To receive a certificate of completion you must attend 100% of the classes to comply with Yoga Alliance requirements. However, it's understandable that you may not be able to foresee every conflict. Check your calendars and make sure you can attend every weekend. Making up classes is difficult and an additional $50 per hour fee will be assessed for make-up sessions If a make-up session is required it may need to be done online at the teacher’s discretion and not all classes can be done outside of the classroom. Options may also include makeup at either location, any additional fees for travel and lodging are the responsibility of the student.

Is there a payment plan? Yes, there is. The full price for the course is $4500 if you choose the payment plan. Your $500 deposit will be applied to the balance and the $4000 balance can be put on a monthly autopay of $400 for ten (10) months when class begins. If you need to make other arrangements for payment please contact us.

Is there a discount if I pay in full? Yes. Payment in full by the first day of class offers a $400 discount or a total of $4100. To save your spot a $500 non-refundable deposit is required. If you’d like to pay the balance on the first day of class, the payment will be $3600.

There are a lot of advanced yoga poses I can’t do.  Can I still do a teacher training program and teach Yoga? Absolutely! There is no requirement to be able to perform each pose.  However, you still will learn instructions on how to teach poses you cannot physically do, and it’s inevitable that you will get better at your physical practice as well as the other practices through the course of your training. So you may surprise yourself.

What physical style of Yoga does the training focus on? Trainees will learn how to teach asana based on Vinyasa, Astanga, Hatha, Yin and Restorative styles of Yoga.  Trainees will graduate with a unique blend of Yoga modified to suit your students’ needs.

Outside of the training hours, what is the time commitment required? You’ll be receiving 15 hours of one-on-one mentorship in this program. You’ll also be creating, marketing and presenting a 2-hour workshop and there are 8 hours in January & February 2025 we’ll be discussing a book (Book Club) online. All of these are required to receive your 300-hour certification. In addition to these requirements, expect to spend about 3-10 hours between weekends on written assignments, reading assignments and other homework. The homework is designed to support the material covered in class and help you integrate what is presented into your own practice and teaching. You will also be required to complete 20 hours of your own personal practice.

Are there any additional expenses? Yes. Books needed for the course are included. We will be reading the Ramayana and The Secret Power of Yoga for the book review. You’ll receive an email with a complete listing of books you’ll need. All the printed materials, handouts and a binder will be included.
